Charlotte and Kim’s friendship started 25 years + ago in Yorkshire, with Spice Girls dance routines, pogs and 10p freddo bars the flavour of the decade. Their careers meant they both migrated to London, where they now live just streets away in their beloved Waltham Forest, East London.
Having built their lives around the 24/7 London lifestyle; with work, parties, and FOMO leaving little room for much else, they realised that they wanted to give back to the universe - by way of healing. Discovering wellbeing rituals and relaxation techniques, they decided to retrain in holistic and complementary therapies and offer their services to the surrounding area and beyond.
They are both experienced therapists, offering a range of treatments, guidance and self-care products that provide the time and nurture to offset hectic lifestyles, complement existing treatments, and assist in preventive health steps.
KIM WATSON BA (Hons) MTI, CNHC• LEYTONSTONE
Kim is a holistic massage therapist who loves working with clients with chronic conditions, aches and pains, and lifestyle challenges; providing time and nurture to offset their busy schedules, complement existing treatments, and assist with self-care techniques.
Her background in Communications; she moved down to London to focus on her career and found that as her progression escalated, so did the stresses and impact on her health. From hand tremors, to hair loss and digestive problems, there was a sense of denial about what was really causing it. Following a trip to Southern India, her love for slowing down and the healing power of massage heightened, and she decided to retrain – studying for an MTI Level 4 in holistic massage. Kim offers a range of treatments aimed at dealing with the aches and pains that manifest in the body.
“I see a future where going for a massage, a gong bath, or reiki is ‘the norm’ and self-care is part our daily ritual. This isn’t about putting down the gin or digital detoxing, but bringing a bit of balance into our hectic lives for the sake of our physical and mental health"
Kim is also passionate about reducing her impact on the environment, taking into account the entire journey of the food she eats, the clothes she wears and the products she uses. This threads through into her treatments, and she aims to use natural, eco-friendly products, and to reduce waste where possible.
Kim provides treatments from her space in Leytonstone, just five minutes from Leytonstone tube station.
CHARLOTTE VIDA STOW BA (Hons) MAR• LEYTON
Healing is a passion of Charlotte’s and is high on her life-balance priority list, as she has always been very ‘yang’ by nature. Healing has helped her channel ‘yin’ energy and she is keen to help others as part of her journey. By giving others an opportunity to reset their bodies and minds, Charlotte helps to restore balance whatever their vocation, needs or pace of life.
“My whole life has been very fast-paced, as I often find myself on judicatories that catapult me into new situations and open up new, exciting possibilities. It’s fun, it’s exciting, but it’s not a sustainable way to live and enjoy the journey for what it is. Something had to change and in hindsight, it all started in Glastonbury 2010 when I found reflexology.”
Natural pressures of having a successful career, a family and all the other ‘wants’ that life brings, calls for a need to slow down or stress can take over. Thriving under pressure is something Charlotte has always been good at, but after a health scare, it was the signal she needed: self-care, balance and an opportunity to embrace the spiritual side of her personality.
Charlotte decided to inject some equilibrium into her life and do something that genuinely helps others, by following up on a passion she’d always had for reflexology since having her first treatment on the Healing Fields of Avalon at Glastonbury Festival. Charlotte is a great believer in synchronicity (and the number 11, but don’t even get her started on that) - there are no coincidences, only synergies and the opportunity to follow this passion presented itself so Charlotte being Charlotte, jumped on the wellness train quick-sharp.
“I was told by a psychic many years ago that I’d be a great healer. To my 20-something self this was so far removed from who I thought I was, it didn’t really register as viable. Then as life kept showing me more signs towards this path, it didn’t feel out of place in my life. It found me. I’ve met some wonderful people and learnt some wonderful things along the way, from stone circles in Glastonbury and Avebury to crystal hunting in Kerala and Sri Lanka, it’s been a blast so far. ”
Finally fulfilling her desire to help others through reflexology, looking to the more spiritual side of her personality for sanctum whilst still running a successful marketing communications business, harmony has been restored.
Charlotte provides reflexology treatments in an idyllic outdoor space in Leyton E10, just a 5-minute walk from Leyton Midland Road Overground or a 15-minute walk from Leyton Station (Central Line).
